Description

Our easy to squeeze, softer gasket cement. For cementing fiberglass gasket in place on cast iron or steel doors. Unlike our #80 or 81 Stove AND Gasket Cement this product cannot be used for sealing cast iron to cast iron, it is just too soft. Be sure your gasket is the proper size for your stove. Door will not close properly if over-sized or under-sized gasket is used. If the door is easily removed it is easier to work with it on a horizontal surface than it is with it hanging open. Remove as much old cement as you can with scrapers, wire brushes or an angle grinder (wear eye protection). Slightly dampen the cleaned channel. Apply bead as directed below.

Lay a thin bead of cement for gaskets under 7/16" diameter so that you don't have excess. Larger gaskets can accommodate thicker beads to hold the gasket properly. Place the gasket in the door working the fiberglass so that the cement "wets out" the back of the gasket to help lock it in place. Press gasket down and wipe up any excess that squishes out the sides of the gasket. Once cemented in place install door and close it to set the gasket fully into the cement. Leave closed until dry, which could be 2 to 24 hours.

In the unlikely event you will ever need to use this warranty, you will be required to return the product to Rodtech or a Rodtech Agent before a replacement part is supplied (subject to being used in accordance with our user manual).
